Vela Tech LLC ("Vela," "we," "us") built the Vela app to help you manage your daily life through conversation. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it's protected.

Information we collect

To provide Vela's features, we collect and store:

• Account information — your name and email address.
• Conversation data — what you say to Vela, so she can respond and remember context across conversations.
• Health and nutrition information — if you choose to share it, such as weight, height, meals, and workouts, used to give you personalized calorie and fitness guidance.
• Location information — only when you use a location-aware feature (such as finding a ride or a nearby restaurant), and only with your permission.
• Payment information — handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. Vela does not store your full card number.
• Contacts and schedule information — only what you choose to add, such as reminders, appointments, or people you ask Vela to remember.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and personalize Vela's responses and recommendations
• Remember facts and preferences you've shared, so future conversations feel continuous
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send messages or notifications you've explicitly requested or scheduled
• Improve the reliability and quality of the app

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-party services

To power Vela's features, certain information is processed by trusted third-party services, including:

• Anthropic — processes your conversations to generate Vela's responses
• Supabase — securely stores your account data, memories, and app data
• Stripe — processes payments and stores payment methods
• Twilio — sends text messages you've requested or scheduled
• ElevenLabs — generates Vela's spoken voice responses

Each of these providers is bound by their own privacy and security standards, and only receives the information necessary to perform their specific function.

Your control over your data

Inside the app, go to Settings → What Vela Knows to view every memory Vela has stored about you, delete individual memories, or permanently erase everything Vela knows about you with a single tap. You can also request full account deletion by contacting us directly.

Data security

Your data is encrypted in transit and stored with industry-standard security practices. Access to your information is restricted to what each system component needs to function.

Children's privacy

Vela is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Vela evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
